Oh my goodness, is that a clownfish mermaid? I think we've got a life-completing piece here!

I just love the incredibly languid feel of this mermaid. Mellow indeed. Her tail fluidly flows through the water like jelly, and her hair flows right with it. I love the sight of her eyelashes curling up with bliss, seemingly condensing to the point of making her eyelids too heavy to hold up. And that sweet pose of knotted fingers makes it very clear that a more contented character cannot be found.

The reddish patches above her elbows and on her shoulders really add to this. What a cute character here. Great job.

Ah, she's lovely.. I think she would get along quite nicely with my piranha-maid.

...Actually no, Nomiel would try to eat her pretty face.

I like how mellow she looks in contrast to the brightly colored clownfish tail. Sometimes, it's the simple things that can really pack a punch. :)

oh wow, I really didn't notice that! I was trying to establish a contrast, but with the colors (the bright orange colors on the tail and the soft blue and purple colors of her hair and top), but her calm appearance also seems to strengthen this contrast. Thanks for pointing that out!

Now quick question! I see you use colored lines on your images but how do you go on about doing them? Do you make all the line work black then filling them to be a certain color or what good sir?

good question! I used to apply colored inks directly before I found out a technique where I can ink the whole picture in black and then change the color of the inks in certain places. I only learned this technique a few days back. It's really sped up productivity for me. :D

This is just amazing. I love how the pose flows so smoothly, it's almost mesmerizing to track it from head to tail.

I thought giving her something other than the generic mermaid tail would be better. It's fun using different tail designs!
